K well, I never make graphic things. Icons or anything, you know? But a while back I made some stuff with screenshots that I got from the Emile fanlisting. I just found them again and I figured I'd post them in case anyone wanted to use them for...whatever, though they're not anything special. There's one friends only banner, and I guess you can credit me if you want but I didn't really do anything except write stuff on screencaps, haha. So yup, here you go.Collapse )

Poor poor St Agatha... [Friday, 5th November, 2004 @ 9:10pm]

I just seen this film on Monday and WOW I was suprised to find out that it WASN'T one of those films that everyone forgets once they watch it, but there's actually an entire CULT dedicated to it somewhere!!
The fact that they keep dissappearing off into their little fantasy world is so kewl and sweet, I think I just watched the film for all those comic bits! Dammit that animation is good!
But, I think there's so many unresloved things in it like when the guy and the girl are kissing and she tells him about the ghost and then he sees it and then...that storyline just dissappears. And the same with the girl's tragic tragic life an that whole thing with her brother never gets resolved. Or is that supposed to symbolise something really mental or is it SUPPOSED to leave you confused cause that's how THEY feel...or something...O_O Does anyone out there have any i-DEA how to answer that? I should see it again though, mental cool film.

Y'know who I really feel sorry the most for in that film? Poor St Agatha...:(

Hmmm... I've just found so many possible meanings to the poem that I confused myself. You could go nuts just thinking of what Blake really meant. As Tim said, he was genius. All the poem is his way of saying what he means, and he could've just said one word or sentence saying it, but he wasn't that simple and he ended up making this awesome poem. All poems, novels, etc are like that: they send a message indirectly in a way. Do you guys know LaFontaine's fables? He would criticize the King using animal characters, and when anybody suspected what he really meant he would say "But, they're just animals." And it's a great way to send messages too, even if people aren't conscient and the book has enough influence on them, they get the message.

Ok, this wasn't really the topic but I just felt like writing it, no idea why o_O... I'm weird and I scare myself and I talk about things nobody was talking about. >_

Poem [Wednesday, 14th July, 2004 @ 6:29pm]

From my perspective, I believe this poem is trying to ask the question, Who or what could've possibly made all living things? and Are we all just insignificant clones to our maker? Or are we each special in our own like?

And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart begin to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What could make a soul and a heart? What could have the power to do that?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright,
In the forests of the night.
What Immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

For some reason, this gives off the vibe that Blake does not believe animals have souls. Did he who made the lamb make thee? He talks about the lamb as if it were an object, and refers to the listener in a personified sense. So, this asks the question, did he who made everyone else, just choose to give us a soul? Are we each significant in our own right? Or are we all merely clones? That is my analyzation.

Here is a discussion question I'd like you all to answer. You can make an individual post because some of your answers may be long, or you can answer in a comment.

The Tyger
Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night.
What Immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, and what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart begin to beat,
What dread hand? and what dread feet?

What the hammer? What the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright,
In the forests of the night.
What Immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

-- William Blake (as I am sure you are all aware)

Now I would like to ask 2 things of you.
Analyze what you think this poem means.
and..
If you have any other William Blake poems you like.. post them.
Just an attempt to wake everyone up, get them pondering & talking more. ^_^ You don't have to answer right now.. You're allowed to ponder it or whatnot. I'm just curious. I shall post my answer in an edit later tonight because I have to go right now. =X

Hey, newbie here... [Saturday, 10th July, 2004 @ 1:28am]

Yes, it's strange to be a newbie in a community, and to livejournal, so I'll be your pathetic little guinea-pig for a while... I've read the book and saw the movie. The two are excellent, even though in the movie the story's pretty different. My fave character of the movie and book has to be Tim Sullivan. But, who's isn't? It's hard to not like the guy, specially in the book, where's he's this short, blonde, long-haired kid who taught the whole gang all the stuff they know! It's true, people like him, who give such an influence, don't live long, because they're so powerful in little time it ends up wearing out in a way? Ok, I confuse people, ignore me. My favorite quote, in the movie and book, has to be: "Hey, Edgar Allan Poe slept with his cousin, but I forgive him that, because he was a genius." It wasn't exactly like that, but I don't have the book or movie with me right now, but you guys'll remember it. Well, bye.

Me, myself and I.
